“Landscape, Seascape, Cityscape was presented in 1986 at the CAC as the last in a trilogy of exhibitions curated by Monett on realism in contemporary American art. This exhibition reflected on the strength and diversity of realist work created in the United States from 1960 to 1985. After its presentation at the CAC, this exhibition traveled to New York City, serving as the inaugural exhibition at The New York Academy of Art. NOLA NOW, Part II: Landscape, Seascape, Cityscape (1986 & 2012), brings together a diverse group of artists whose work recalls our infatuation with natural and man-made environments.”
